True Colors Painting uses only BC Approved ThermoPlastic from Lafrentz Road Marking in Edmonton.

Lafrentz manufactures System 300 ThermoPlastic Extruded Roadmarking Material, which is specially formulated to withstand the extreme climate conditions in Canada. This extrusion product is available in yellow or white.

We also have the option to add glass bead to this product for high visibility.

Our ThermoPlastic truck is equipped
with a Stimsonite melter and
applied with an Apollo III applicator.

We use Government of BC approved Lafrentz Thermoplastic.

conditions in Canada. This is an extrusion product and is available in
either yellow or white.

Physical Requirements and Roadmarkings

Color: Markings are billiant white or yellow. Brightness is the value obtained with the Gardner Multi-purpose Reflectometer when measuring 0 degrees to 45 degrees daylight, luminous, directional reflectance with the green filter. The rating obtained shall not be less than 70% for white or 45% for yellow.

Water Absorption: Materis have no more than 0.5% by weight of retained water when tested by ASTM designation D-570 Water Absorption of Plastics.

Glass Bead

Imperfections: The surface of the spheres are smooth and free from film, scratches and pits. At least 80% are true spherical shape and free from milkiness, dark or air inclusions and other defects.

Index of Refraction: The liquid immersion method at 25 degrees C may be used to deterime the refractive index of glass spheres. A refractive index of 1.5 to 1.6 is required.

Gradation: The spheres meet the gradation requirements when tested in accordance with ASTM designation D-12214.
